Prolific textile artist Andrea Siegel writes about topics close to her heart. While working with clients and colleagues in the fashion industry, Andrea discovered how integrity and individual experience relate intimately to effective selection of beautiful clothing. Open and Clothed presents her findings. Andrea's martial arts practice led to her book, Women in Aikido (North Atlantic Press), which explores the issues of power, heart and common sense in discussions with female black belts. Her most recent work is a book about her late father, Snapshots from the Heart. A graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, Andrea lives in New York City and visits California often. Her passion for clothing began at age fifteen: She left her heart in Rome where she saw the most gorgeous pair of leather boots. Andrea's writing has appeared in Salon and the New York Times.
