Prolific textile artist Andrea Siegel writes about topics close to her heart. While working with clients and colleagues in the fashion industry, Andrea discovered how integrity and individual experience relate intimately to effective selection of beautiful clothing. Open and Clothed presents her findings. Andrea's martial arts practice led to her book, Women in Aikido (North Atlantic Press), which explores the issues of power, heart and common sense in discussions with female black belts. Her most recent book, Snapshots from the Heart, is about her late father. Andrea's writing has also appeared in Salon and the New York Times. She holds a PhD in Sociology from the City University of New York Graduate Center. |
