Andrea Siegel On Formal Wear:
"When you're not accustomed to wearing
more-formal clothes, you lose the ability to be comfortable in an elegant situation,"
she said. "And in that sense, there is a loss."

Andrea Siegel On Hats:
...Above all, a hat should
fit. Men's hats come in different sizes but for women "it's a
one-size-fits-all-world," says fashion author Andrea Siegel in her new book Open and Clothed. "And that size is for someone with a
teeny-weeny pinhead." She'd like to see hats in small, medium, large and extra-large
sizes.

Andrea Siegel On Handbags:
Siegel warns against
buying a bag that's too small in a misguided effort to carry less. Absolutely ruthless
self-honesty is critical in choosing a suitable purse size, she writes. "Like buying
clothes for 'when I lose five pounds,' buying a purse for a person who carries less stuff
(not you) is a complete waste of money."
Siegel suggests you evaluate the
possibilities: "Handbag, backpack, or forklift?"
